Mtubatuba police seek information on suspects wanted for attempted murder

The police in Mtubatuba are calling on members of the public to assist with information that could lead to the apprehension of suspects wanted for an attempted murder in the Nkundisi area.

Police spokesperson Captain Justice Hlabisa said the incident occurred on Saturday just before 1am at the Mantengu homestead near Nsombosi School. Multiple shots were fired.

The complainant alleged that they were woken up by a suspicious noise coming from outside their two-roomed house and that when they investigated, they found an unknown person inside the house, suspected to have forcefully gained entry to the premises.

It is reported that when the complainant and suspect’s eyes met, the suspect fired shots but missed.

The complainant reportedly rushed back into their bedroom where they hid in a corner.

It is alleged that a second suspect, who was standing outside near the bedroom window, then through a brick through it.

It is alleged that three more shots were fired, resulting in the complainant screaming to the suspects to do as they pleased.

“After that, the complainant heard them talking outside. After a few minutes, he came out to check and found that it was clear.

“The complainant is unable to identify the suspects as it was dark,” said Hlabisa, who urged members of the public with information to contact him on 082 5580130.
