Pongola NPO recognises good deeds

PONGOLA NPO Nqobizitha Foundation recognised individuals and corporations who contribute positively to the community’s development in various fields during its third annual Umuntu Ubongwa Esaphila Awards on Friday.

The awards aim to encourage positive change, inspire future generations, and promote excellence as a cornerstone of society, particularly in the Zululand region.

Over 20 categories were recognised, including in the taxi industry, education and other sectors.

According to the foundation’s Nqobizitha Thabede, the recognition awards embody inclusivity and promote inspiring individuals who foster community pride and spirit, especially those residents whose eyes and ears are always open to opportunities to improve communities.

“These awards also recognise an individual, organisation or business that understands the value of inclusivity in a community, and works towards enhancing the individual perspective and contributions of all community members,” said Thabede.

He added that the awards brought together industry leaders, influencers, artists, entrepreneurs, hustlers, employees and community members to celebrate the recipients’ remarkable accomplishments.
