Social development MEC survives crash

Member of KwaZulu-Natal government escapes unharmed from serious car accident on N3

The MEC for social development in KwaZulu-Natal, Mbali Shinga, escaped unharmed from an accident that took place along the N3 while travelling to the offices in Pietermaritzburg on Monday morning.

As a result of the persistent wet weather conditions, Shinga’s motorcade was stuck in traffic when a speeding vehicle coming from behind hit the backup car before hitting the main car in which the MEC was seated.

Shinga extends her sincerest appreciation to members of the protection unit who responded promptly and provided excellent care.

She escaped unharmed and is in good spirits and continuing with her business of the day.
