All eyes on St Lucia flooding

Natural breach will assist with inundation, says iSimangaliso

The natural breach at the river mouth at St Lucia should minimise the water inundating farms in flood plain areas, among them Dukuduku, Sokhulu and commercial farming lands.

This was shared by iSimangaliso Wetland Park following the morning breach on 10 January after heavy rainfall in KZN.

This resulted in back-flooding on these farms, some on the flood plains of the Msunduzi and uMfolozi rivers…
