Local school shows super support for Empangeni SPCA

Tonnes of food warmly welcomed, but flood damage assistance still needed

Zululand Remedial Centre (ZRC) celebrated 15 years of donating to Empangeni SPCA on Friday morning.

Pupils and staff collected pet food, with teachers Carmen Oosthuizen (foundation phase) and Nelmari Morton (departmental head) leading the initiative.

They received an incredible 1.3 tonne donation of Hill’s Science dog food from Hill’s Science Pet Nutrition.

Pupils enjoyed a playful skit with Carmen and Mysti, who took on the role of Cop Dog on a mission.

After a ‘robber’ stole the Hill’s Science dog food, Mysti had to track it down, performing tricks until all the food was uncovered.

ZRC’s efforts go a long way to helping the SPCA, but the NPO is still in desperate need of funds after recent rain damage to their premises.
