Beaches take another big wave bashing
Coastal erosion remains in the spotlight after recent heavy weather saw further damage to the dunes north of Alkantstrand
Once again, huge chunks of coastline were chewed out by fierce seas that pounded the dune front north of Alkantstrand over the past 10 days.
Waves that smashed high over the dolphin platform at the port’s northern breakwater also did serious damage to the beaches, with fallen trees drifting into the ocean and posing danger to boats and bathers…
