Man pleads guilty to murdering mother of his child
Man appears in the Richards Bay Magistrate's Court, pleads guilty to fatally stabbing the mother of his child
The man who fatally stabbed the mother of his child during Women’s Month last year pleaded guilty to her murder last week.
Lindokuhle Nsele (30), who has remained in custody since his arrest in August, appeared in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
He faces charges for the murder of Minenhle Mabika (19), a law student with whom he shared a toddler (2), as well as two counts of assault with grievous bodily harm on family members who were also attacked at the time.
The court heard how, in the early hours of 5 August 2024, Nsele had an argument with Mabika in their bedroom, which escalated.
He stabbed her and two other members of her family before locking them indoors and fleeing with the keys and gate remotes.
He pleaded guilty to all counts, admitting he stabbed all three members and acted unlawfully and intentionally.
The matter was adjourned to 8 April for continuation.
