Richards Bay Magistrate's Court hands down 18-year sentence to man convicted of murdering the mother of his children
The Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday sentenced the man who murdered his girlfriend and assaulted two others in August, to an effective 18-years behind bars after he pleaded guilty to all charges.
Lindokuhle Nsele (30) was convicted of the murder of his partner, Minenhle Mabika (19), and the assault with grievous bodily harm on two of her family members, which occurred at the deceased’s family home in Brackenham.
Nsele fatally stabbed Mabika, the mother of his two-year-old child, after an argument in the early hours of the morning on 5 August 2024, and went on to attack two other family members.
He then locked the wounded members inside and fled with all the keys as well as the remotes for the outside gates, leaving them hostage in the premises.
For the count of murder, he was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment, and on counts 2 and 3 he was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment each.
The sentence was an effective 18 years behind bars.
