Drive to collect 100 pairs of shoes for poor

Councillor urges communities to support drive to donate 100 pairs of school shoes to pupils from destitute families

Mtubatuba’s Ward 8 Councillor Mlungisi Mnyango has initiated a school shoe drive, encouraging donors to help him reach the target of 100 pairs of shoes for pupils from destitute families.

Mnyango said he has donated 15 pairs, with various school principals reaching out to ask for assistance.

He says the initiative benefitting pupils in his ward will run until June, with home visits to hand over the donations.
Mnyango extended thanks to his wife; Siya from Smart Build; and Miss Mthethwa from the Department of Agriculture who have already donated.

“It has become apparent that there is a lot of work that should be done in the ward with regards to this initiative,” said Mnyango.

The councillor can be reached on 078 6906529.
