Shembe Church members to gather in Richards Bay from Tuesday

Shembe church members from across the country will gather at Impuza Temple in Birdswood from Tuesday next week, city warns of an expected increase in traffic in Richards Bay

Thousands of Nazareth Baptist Church members from across the country are expected to flock to Impuza Temple in Birdswood from Tuesday.

This as the church is set to hold a four-week prayer for the memorial congregation of the church founder, iNkosi Isaiah ‘Umqali Wendlela’ Shembe.

The uMhlathuze Municipality has warned of increased traffic in Richards Bay and surrounding areas.

“In preparation for this significant event, the municipality has ensured that essential services are in place to cater to the needs of our visitors.

“During this period, the streets of Richards Bay and surrounding areas, particularly Birdswood, will be bustling with worshippers. Members of the public are kindly requested to exercise patience and understanding, as the roads may be congested,” said the municipality.

“If you’re planning to travel along Nkoninga Road from eMandlazini to the T-junction of East Central Arterial, please be prepared for increased traffic and potential delays.”

The city said it has taken necessary steps to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors and residents alike.
