Weather warning: Disruptive rainfall predicted
These areas are expected to be affected by disruptive rains from midnight on Monday until midnight on Tuesday
Disaster management teams have been placed on high alert following a level 4 warning of disruptive rains in KZN tomorrow (Tuesday).
The areas that will be affected include Nkandla, Mthonjaneni and Mandeni, with residents urged to exercise extreme caution. The warning is valid from midnight tonight (Monday) until midnight on Tuesday.

“Please avoid unnecessary travel, especially on dirt roads, and refrain from crossing rivers and swollen streams where the water level is above your ankles,” said KZN Cogta MEC Rev Thulasizwe Buthelezi.
“The department will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as necessary. Residents are encouraged to stay informed through official channels and heed the warnings issued by disaster management authorities.”
The Department of Cogta advises residents to take the following precautionary measures:
* If possible, stay indoors and off the roads
* Avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams
* If trapped in a vehicle during a flood, abandon it and climb to higher ground
* In buildings, move valuable items to a safe place above the expected flood level
* In rural areas, move livestock to higher ground
