Weather warning: Damaging winds ahead on Wednesday
Brace for damaging winds and rough seas as cold snap sweeps through KZN on Wednesday
As the cold front grips parts of the country this week, strong and damaging winds are also expected to sweep through KZN on Wednesday.
The South African Weather Service has issued a level 2 warning for damaging winds, anticipated to affect coastal regions and the inland districts of Harry Gwala, uMgungundlovu, uThukela, Amajuba, uMzinyathi and Zululand.

This could cause disruptions to road travel due to crosswinds and the risk of fallen debris, together with disruptions to port activities and challenging conditions for small maritime vessels.
A level 2 warning for damaging waves is also in place for tomorrow (Wednesday). The affected areas include: Big Five Hlabisa, Mandeni, Mfolozi and uMlalazi.
The SAWS said very rough seas with wave heights of 4.0 to 5.5m are expected from Wednesday afternoon to early morning on Thursday.

Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) MEC Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi has urged residents to exercise caution during the bad weather conditions and adhere to warnings.
“The possibility of sea spray affecting coastal roads, beachfronts and adjacent communities.
“Potential service disruptions due to uprooted trees which might damage powerlines,” said Buthelezi.
