Municipal water repairs cause havoc for Empangeni resident

Empangeni resident raises safety concerns after municipality digs up pipe, blocks driveway

An Empangeni resident was forced to endure the whole of Wednesday without electricity after the municipality dug up a leaking pipe belonging to his neighbour.

Having been a resident of Empangeni for just one year, Shaun Naidoo says this situation is compromising his family’s safety for something he had nothing to do with.

As if that were not enough, the contractors blocked Naidoo’s driveway with thick mud, forcing him to park his vehicle outside.

“They started digging on Wednesday morning and promised me everything would be sorted today, however, no one is here now. This mess is now affecting my family’s access to our house,” said Naidoo on Thursday morning.
