Eight-hour power outage hits Richards Bay suburbs as city conducts maintenance

Several areas in the City of uMhlathuze have been left without electricity as the municipality embarks on a planned power outage for maintenance today (Monday).
The process is scheduled to last for eight hours, from 8am to 4pm.

Affected areas include a portion of Alton, the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ), Brackenham, Aquadene, Veldenvlei and Wildenweide.

The city has urged residents to treat electrical installations as live at all times during the maintenance period, saying electricity will be restored as soon as the work is complete.
