WATCH: No serious injuries in fiery Richards Bay crash

Dramatic scenes greeted rush-hour motorists in Richards Bay this evening (Monday) as a two-vehicle accident led to one of the cars bursting into flames.

The collision occurred at the ZCBF intersection in Alton at around 5pm, and involved a bakkie and a hatchback.

Traffic was brought to a standstill as emergency services carried out their work.

Medcare 24 responded to the call-out, but, fortunately, there were only slight injuries and no one required to be transported to hospital.

The same cannot be said for the vehicles, as video footage shared across social media platforms shows the bakkie engulfed in flames.

City of uMhlathuze Fire & Rescue arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze.
