Head-on collision claims one life on R34 near Empangeni

One person was killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on the R34 near Empangeni this (Sunday) morning.

The collision occurred just after 10am near the Pentecostal Church, and obstructed the Nkwalini-bound lane while emergency services worked to clear the scene.

Reports from the scene indicate that the log truck was travelling towards Empangeni when the driver lost control, colliding head-on with a box body truck that was Nkwalini-bound.
