Parts of Empangeni prepare for afternoon power outage

Residents of Empangeni should prepare for an afternoon power outage to affect parts of the town today (Thursday).

As advised by the City of uMhlathuze, technicians need to perform emergency work on the Western substation, resulting in a power outage from 2pm to 6pm.

Affected areas include Noordsig, Empangeni Shopping Centre, Biyela Centre, Hillview, Leisure Gardens, Life Empangeni Private Hospital, Queen Nandi Regional Hospital, parts of Nyala Park, and some streets in Kildare.

The city advises residents to treat electrical supplies as live at all times, as power will be restored once the work is completed.
