Free help for school pupils

Schoolwork programme offered by NPO KwaDlangezwa Community Advice Office and Resource Centre

BUSY schedules mean most parents find it difficult to help their children with schoolwork. To support them, local NPO KwaDlangezwa Community Advice Office and Resource Centre has stepped in to provide free assistance.

The programme, which aims to help pupils improve academic performance, is fully endorsed by the District Department of Education.

Pupils receive professional teaching support from qualified teachers who provide this service pro bono as a way of giving back to the community.

According to one of the programme coordinators, Sifiso Mbuyazi, the response from parents has been positive, and pupils are showing academic improvement.

“This programme emanated from the struggle we have observed some parents face when helping their children with homework, some due to illiteracy, while others because of their busy schedules, from workloads to managing households,” said Mbuyazi.

The programme runs Mondays to Fridays, 4pm to 6pm, and 8am to 12 noon on Saturdays.

Companies willing to support the programme, or parents wishing to enrol their children can contact Sifiso on 078 3467774.
