‘An extensive search has been conducted over six days using manpower, SAPS K9s, drones, helicopters and fixed wing aircraft. The search has brought together volunteers from security companies, the local community, local CPF, and various game reserves to assist Mkhuze SAPS and SAPS K9 Search & Rescue units from Vryheid and Empangeni. SAPS will continue to investigate with the hope of returning to narrow down the search area,’ said an IPSS statement.

IPSS further thanked Ghost Mountain Inn and Mkhuze SUPERSPAR for their support of search teams.

uMkhanyakude Cluster police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Sibusiso Mkhize said McSorley was last seen last Friday when she and her husband walked to a nearby dam.

“She was wearing a white blouse and black pants, and has blonde hair and blue eyes,” said Mkhize.

According to a source, the couple went for a walk to a nearby dam containing hippos. Along the way, her husband returned to the hotel, but McSorley stayed out.

“She was adamant to proceed towards the dam to take photos of the hippopotamus. That was when her partner last saw her,” said the source.

When McSorley’s partner realised she had not returned to the hotel, she was reported missing to the hotel staff, and the police were called.

“The search has been ongoing, with no luck,” said the source.

Mkhize urges anyone with information pertaining to McSorley’s whereabouts to contact Detective Sergeant SJ Khoza on 072 1278765 or 035 5731088. Alternatively, call Crime Stop on 086 00 10111.
