uMlalazi embarks on its 2025/26 IDP roadshows

uMlalazi Mayor Queen Xulu details progress on projects in wards 1 to 4

uMlalazi Municipality officially kicked off its 2025/26 revised IDP roadshows on Wednesday at Ndayini Community Hall (ward 4).

Delivering the revised budget for the upcoming financial year, Mayor Queen Xulu outlined detailed progress on projects in wards 1 to 4.

This included gravel road projects, such as Zisulwini and Ndayini (ward 4), and Ntoza and Mashaba (ward 1).

The electrification project in Ward 1 has been completed, supplying electricity to 100 households.

Natural disasters had impacted wards 1 and 2, she said, with the Mamba Causeway Project (ward 2) ongoing.

Silambo (ward 3) is still under construction, as is Msashabase Sports Field (ward 1).

The Mvuzane Rural Housing Project (wards 1 and 4) are also ongoing.

“About 1 000 housing units are under way. We are also building crèches, and recently officiated the handing over of Dakeni Crèche in ward 3,” said Xulu.

Residents could raise concerns with government departments and entities, including the Department of Social Development, Eskom and the IEC.
