More bad weather ahead for KZN

KZN residents urged to be on high alert as thunderstorms are expected to continue until Wednesday.

Wet weather conditions are expected to continue over parts of KZN this (Tuesday) afternoon and will persist until tomorrow evening.

The SA Weather Service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms, revised down from the level 4 warning issued on Monday.

The thunderstorms are expected to become severe in the north-west of KZN today, and in the western and northern parts tomorrow.

Residents are urged to be on high alert for heavy downpours, strong winds, excessive lightning and small hail.

These conditions may lead to localised flooding, infrastructure damage and difficult driving conditions.

The KZN Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs has warned communities to avoid crossing flooded roads and bridges, and to stay indoors during storms.
