Sassa refutes claims of double grant payment

Social grant beneficiaries warned about fake information on double pay this month

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) has dismissed claims of a double payment in social grants this month, citing the claims as false information.

The agency urged all its beneficiaries and the public at large not to entertain this information as there has been no announcement of social grant double payment either by Sassa or the government.

Sassa has appealed to the public to be circumspect of the information they share on social media as it directly and adversely affects millions of vulnerable beneficiaries.

“We appeal to our beneficiaries to rely only on credible sources of information on our official social media pages.

“Before anyone can share any information pertaining to social grants, they must first verify its authenticity to avoid disseminating false information that may cause anxiety and stress to our beneficiaries,” says Paseka Letsatsi, the Sassa National Spokesperson.

Beneficiaries are encouraged to be vigilant and cautious at the information they consume.

If in doubt, call Sassa’s toll-free number on 0800 60 10 11 or email GrantEnquiries@Sassa.gov.za

Here are the payment dates for November:
