WATCH: City Mayor unpacks planned projects, expresses ambition for second term

Multi-billion rand projects planned for City of uMhlathuze

City of uMhlathuze Mayor Xolani Ngwezi has unpacked several upcoming developments in the city, which he says will bring much-needed employment opportunities.

The mayor was speaking in eSikhaleni at the joint IDP roadshow hosted alongside King Cetshwayo District Municipality on Thursday afternoon.

Ngwezi commended the R20-billion investment pledges made for the City of uMhlathuze at this year’s KZN Trade and Investment Conference last week.

These investment pledges include: R16-billion for the IHS Heritage Graphite Project, R1.4-billion for iNkosi Phalane Retail Centre and R1.8-billion for the new airport development. During his speech, the mayor expressed his ambitions to return for a second term next year.
