What was the weekend rainfall in Zululand?

Did you experience a lot of rain this weekend? Here's a look at how much was recorded by Weather SA in Zululand region

The predicted cut-off low arrived over the weekend, bringing severe weather conditions to parts of South Africa, including KwaZulu-Natal.

The KZN Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) cautioned residents to prepare for severe weather conditions ahead of the weekend, as level 2 and level 4 warnings came into effect from Saturday until today (Monday).

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) also issued alerts, with the cut-off low-pressure system bringing heavy rainfall, severe thunderstorms and strong winds across large parts of KZN. Weather SA outlined the rainfall across Zululand as at sunday:

· Babanango – 37mm
· Mandeni – 36mm
· Pongola – 43mm
· Ulundi – 33mm
· University of Zululand – 40mm

With this summer anticipated to be wetter than usual, we can expect a lot more rainfall over the coming months.
