Mtunzini booze ban ahead of festive season

New bylaws to ensure safety of Mtunzini residents and visitors during the festive season and beyond

uMlalazi Council has passed new bylaws for the uMlalazi Municipality making it illegal to drink alcohol in public in Mtunzini, as part of efforts to prepare for a safer festive season for visitors and residents.

The new measures have been discussed at four meetings convened by the Mtunzini SAPS Station Commander, attended by representatives from the municipality, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife and its honorary officers, the NSRI, the MRA, the Community Policing Forum, and local security companies.
