Rampant robot cable theft plagues City of uMhlathuze

The City of uMhlathuze pleads with residents to report cable thefts as millions are lost

As the City of uMhlathuze continues to lose millions to cable theft, a plea has been made to residents to stand with law enforcement and expose the persistent criminal activity.

This follows the apprehension of four suspects of cable theft in Empangeni last Thursday.

“Community members and private security personnel successfully intercepted suspects in Empangeni, preventing further theft of electrical cables. We commend and applaud the bravery and vigilance displayed, as well as the swift handover of the suspects to the police,” said the municipality.
