Bay woman races 1 000km for children with disabilities

Marlise Venter has committed to running 1 000km by year-end to raise funds for a centre for children with severe disabilities

A RICHARDS Bay runner has taken it upon herself to rack up some impressive mileage by year-end, all for a worthy cause.

In September, Marlise Venter (42) committed to running 1 000km by the end of the year as a fundraiser for Pathways, a Durban-based centre for children with severe disabilities.

“My disabled, non-verbal nephew started attending Pathways in Westville in August, and within a short time, through the amazing work of the dedicated therapists, started becoming verbal and able to do more than he could previously,” said Marlise…
