Sign up now for wildlife quiz night to raise funds for Richards Bay rehab centre

Dress up and show up in support of proposed Richards Bay wildlife rehabilitation centre.

Get ready for a wild night out with the upcoming Wildlife Quiz evening, emceed by the ZO’s very own firecracker, Dave Savides.

Taking place on Saturday, 28 February at 6.30pm for 7pm at Gecko Inn, 48 Bottlebrushbend, Richards Bay, guests are encouraged to dress up as wildlife for this entertaining fundraiser.

All proceeds will go to the White Eye Foundation’s efforts to establish a wildlife and rehabilitation centre in Richards Bay.

About the cause

A wildlife rehabilitation centre would fill a big gap in the area, as the only such facilities are in Vryheid, Durban and Shongweni.

The need for such a facility is highlighted by the constant reports of injured wildlife in the area, including vervet monkeys, owls and other creatures run over on the busy roads or shot with pellet guns.

The result is that many of these innocent creatures require urgent care, often financed by local veterinarians.

Auctions and prizes

An exciting auction is being held for a Bonamanzi Game Reserve getaway that includes a two-night stay for up to six people, plus two guided game drives.

How much is it worth? That’s for you to decide! Bidding closes on 28 February, so start bidding now by contacting Miriam Otto on 083 6513491.

The evening will also include lucky draw prizes for which donations are welcome, such as a bottle of wine, money, chocolates, massage vouchers, etc.

Organisers are looking for 10 of the same prize (for example 10 bottles of wine) to reward the winning table.

Book now!

There are nine tables of 10 with tickets priced at R200 (donation), with single tickets also available.

Tickets are selling fast! Book through Miriam Otto on 083 6513491 or buy tickets at Arboretum Veterinary Clinic, 44 Essenwood Way, Richards Bay.

Get ready for a night of fun for a great cause.
