Ward 26 uniform drive targets Aquadene and Brackenham pupils

Call for community to support uniform drive to support children in need as new school year begins

Collecting school uniforms for underprivileged children in Ward 26, Gracious Givers Community Development and Councillor Ray Govender have teamed up to drive the initiative.

The NPO founder, Mandy Michaels, said there were many needing school uniforms and shoes in the communities of Aquadene and Brackenham. She has appealed for donations of new or usable uniforms in good condition.

Uniforms are being collected for Aquadene Secondary School, Floraton Primary School (Aquadene), Richards Bay Secondary School (Brackenham), Bay Primary School (Brackenham), and Brackenham Primary School.

“Donations of stationery and textbooks are also welcomed,” said Govender. “We invite our communities and local businesses to support our children’s education and assist families in meeting the needs of their children as the schooling year starts.”

Donations can be dropped off at Councillor Ray Govender’s office next to the Brackenham Community Hall.
