Join Richards Bay memorial run for Louise Fisher

Shades of Colour memorial walk/run to remember vibrant Louise Fisher

Combining her two favourite things – fitness and charity work – the family and friends of Louise Fisher will celebrate her life with a memorial walk/run this Saturday.

The event – Shades of Colour – is being organised to remember this vibrant woman who sadly passed away on 3 January.

It will start at the entrance to Alkantstrand, in the open space next to the security checkpoint.

Participants can gather from 6.30am for a short prayer, joining the Richards Bay parkrun, which starts at 7am.

Event host and good friend of Louise, Mercia Hoorzuk, has called on the community to pay tribute to the life of Louise by wearing a dash of red – her favourite colour.

“Louise loved her sunglasses, so bring along your favourite shades and add some colour to the day!

“We will be taking up a cash donation which will be handed over to her daughter, as well as collecting canned food for local charity Walk in Faith. We urge participants to bring a can of tinned food for charity,” said Hoorzuk.

Participants are reminded that there are some overgrown roots on the parkrun route in the forest, which can be muddy at times, so it is advisable to wear old takkies.

On the Pelican Island route, new walkers are reminded to be cautious of the terrain and to take it slow and steady.

Registration for parkrun is free at www.parkrun.co.za/register/
