Ulundi school gets cash for 100% pass

Kwa Bhamu High School in Ulundi receives R10 000 cheque, certificate of excellence, trophy and scientific calculators.

Six schools in uLundi Municipality achieved a 100 percent pass rate for the 2025 matric exams, and a cash reward is intended to encourage this positive momentum.

On Friday, Mayor Wilson Ntshangase and his executive visited Kwa Bhamu High School in Ezinqonyaneni to hand over a R10 000 cheque, certificate of excellence, trophy and scientific calculators.

Ntshangse said the school, led by Principal Thamsanqa Gabela, demonstrates excellence in education delivery despite operating under challenging rural conditions.

“This school attained a 100 percent matric pass rate for two consecutive years – a clear indication of strong leadership, dedicated educators, and disciplined learners,” he said.

“Kwa Bhamu High School proves that geographical location and limited resources are not barriers to excellence.”

Principal Gabela commented, “This visit and the support we received today will further motivate our learners and educators to maintain high standards. We are grateful to the mayor and municipality for recognising our efforts and believing in rural schools.”
