Condolences continue to pour in for the family that lost six members in a horrific accident on the N2 in Mtubatuba on Friday night.
Nyatee Foundation has joined hundreds of mourners in expressing its profound sorrow and deepest condolences to the bereaved family following the devastating and tragic accident.
During a visit to the family, the foundation’s spokesperson, Thobile Mchunu, said the tragedy has left the entire community in shock and mourning.
“This is not just a tragedy; it is a wound that cuts through the heart of the community. The loss of six lives in one family is unimaginable.
No parent, child, sibling or relative should ever have to endure such pain,” said Mchunu.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Lindelani Gcaleka said they are struggling to come to terms with what happened.
“It has been devastating. I do not have the words to describe what we witnessed at the scene of the accident. The car was completely destroyed, and some family members were disfigured. We would not wish this on anyone, not even our enemies. We wake up every day hoping it is not real. We are truly heartbroken,” said Gcaleka.
Those who lost their lives have been identified as Nokuphakama ‘MaMdletshe’ Mnyango (85), Makhosi ‘kaMnyango’ Mthembu (52), Mvuyani Gcaleka (43), Senamile Buthelezi (29), Ayanda Pearl Mthembu (12) and Banzi Buthelezi (6).
The Nyatee Foundation has pledged its support to the family during this difficult time, and committed to standing with them as they prepare to lay their loved ones to rest this weekend.
