The high temperatures will also impact Hluhluwe, Mthonjaneni, Ulundi, uMlalazi, Pongola, Mtubatuba, Jozini, Mandeni, Nongoma and uMhlabuyalingana.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) urged citizens to take precautions amid the persistently high temperatures affecting the northern parts of KZN.

“Hot and humid weather will result in very uncomfortable conditions in places along the coast and adjacent interior of the Eastern Cape, as well as over the eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal, where the conditions will persist until Friday,” the SAWS states.

Residents in the affected areas are urged to limit physical activities, stay hydrated by increasing water intake, avoid sun exposure, seek shaded and well ventilated areas.

Schools are encouraged to suspend physical outdoor activities.
