Weather warning: Severe thunderstorms to hit parts of Zululand

Residents are cautioned as severe thunderstorms are predicted in parts of KwaZulu-Natal

Some parts of the Zululand region are expected to experience severe thunderstorms this (Friday) afternoon until tomorrow (Saturday) evening.

The SA Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 2 warning for heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning and hail, which could affect Ulundi, Nkandla and Nongoma.

“Some of these thunderstorms are expected to become severe in places over the western parts today (Friday) and tomorrow (Saturday),” the SAW stated.

KZN Cogta has urged residents to avoid low-lying bridges and flooded roads, limit outdoor activities, and take necessary precautions to stay safe.
