Renew your licences before Easter break, motorists warned
Thousands of licence cards, discs expected to expire this month, RTMC calls on motorists to renew them timeously
With thousands of vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards set to expire at the end of this month, motorists are advised to renew them before the expected Easter long weekend travel.
According to the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC), 98 735 KZN vehicle licence discs will expire at the end of March, while 20 188 driver’s licence cards will expire during this period.
“Motorists who intend to travel over the Easter long weekend are advised to check the validity of their vehicle licence discs and driving licence cards now, and renew them to avoid delays and embarrassment later,” said the RTMC.
The road traffic management authority encouraged drivers to make use of the online Natis system to renew their licences – online.natis.gov.za
“The disc will be delivered within three to five working days. More than 6 million vehicle licence discs have been processed through this platform since it became available in 2022,” it said.
Drivers in Gauteng, Gqeberha and Kariga in the Eastern Cape can use the same platform to pre-book a slot to renew driving licence cards. Motorists in other provinces can use the services at driving licence centres.
