Homeowners warned after syndicate targets properties under guise of viewing
Police are scouring CCTV cameras in the hopes of identifying the suspects.

HOMEOWNERS selling their properties are urged to be vigilant when opening their houses to prospective buyers.
This after an elderly Arboretum resident let in four people purporting to be viewers, who stole numerous small items while ‘viewing’ the property.

Items such as cellphones, that can be easily slipped into handbags and pockets, were stolen.
After reporting the crime to the Richards Bay Police Station, the resident was advised that a similar incident had occurred in Mtubatuba.
Police are scouring CCTV cameras in the hopes of identifying the suspects.
Modus operandi
According to the homeowner, two black women, fluent in Afrikaans, knocked on the door asking to view his property.
After going through the house once, they asked if they could bring in their companions who were in their car.
The homeowner agreed, after which all four looked around the property before leaving the premises.
The losses were only discovered later.
