ONE person lost their life, while a further three sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical in an accident on the N2 near Mandeni on Friday afternoon.

IPSS Medical Rescue responded, arriving on scene to find that two vehicles had collided head-on.

“Patients were stabilised on scene by IPSS Medical Rescue advanced life support paramedics before being transported to various facilities for further care,” said IPSS spokesperson Samantha Meyrick.

The accident led to the partial closure of the N2 in the vicinity, causing holiday traffic to backup.
