Community encouraged to partake in future municipal engagements

Ulundi Municipality promotes participatory governance during IDP Roadshow

Ulundi Local Municipality successfully hosted its Integrated Development Plan (IDP), Local Economic Development (LED), and Budget Roadshow in Ward 17 at Emphothi Area on Tuesday.

The roadshow forms part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to promote participatory governance and ensure that communities are actively involved in shaping development priorities and budget allocations

Residents of Ward 17 gathered in numbers to engage directly with municipal leadership and officials on key service delivery matters.

During the event, Ulundi mayor, Wilson Ntshangase, emphasised the importance of community participation in building a responsive and accountable municipality.

Ntshangase highlighted that the IDP and budget processes are critical tools to align municipal planning with the needs of the people.

“The municipality remains committed to working together with communities to improve service delivery and ensure sustainable development. Platforms such as these allow us to listen, engage, and respond effectively to the needs of our residents,” he said.

Community members through traditional leadership were given an opportunity to raise concerns, make inputs, and contribute towards development priorities, particularly on issues affecting service delivery, infrastructure, and local economic opportunities.
