WATCH: March gets under way in eSikhaleni under heavy police guard

Local communities join nationwide march against illegal migration

Community members who are joining calls for an end to illegal migration have gathered in eSikhaleni this (Tuesday) morning under heavy police guard.

This forms part of several demonstrations by the March and March organisation, which are expected to take place nationwide.

This follows a 30 June deadline for illegal foreigners to return to their countries.
Marches are also expected to take place in Nseleni and Macekane.

ESikhawini SAPS station commander Colonel W Ntanzi engaged with march leaders in eSikhaleni, emphasising that the cut-off time for the gathering will be 12 noon sharp after the march got underway, long after the stipulated time of 9am.
