WATCH: Sulphur spillage after truck loses control on John Ross highway
Truck lost its load of sulphur on R34 John Ross highway and the East Central Arterial intersection in Richards Bay
A major clean-up is in progress at the intersection of the R34 John Ross highway and East Central Arterial after a truck lost its load of sulphur and left the road, coming to a halt up the embankment.
The crash occurred just before 10.30am. All emergency services are on scene, with fears that the volatile product might catch fire.

The truck was moving from the Meerensee side of the John Ross towards Woodchip Glade, and left a long skid mark before also gouging a hole in the tarmac.
