WATCH: 7 Marathons in 7 days — Marsha Muller on mindset, muscle and the Icons journey

‘The mind is the biggest bonus’: Marsha 'The Machine' Muller on surviving 400km and breaking records

No stiffness, soreness or muscle cramps for Marsha ‘The Machine’ Muller after her 400km Icons Journey Marathon last week, just one more toe without a nail.

This is the reality of endurance running, and the Richards Bay ultra-athlete sat down for a one-on-one with the Zululand Observer after arriving back in the Bay this week.

The 11 Icons 4 Change not only carried the national flag for the 400km duration, they exuded the South African spirit throughout

Marsha and 10 other Icons 4 Change conquered 7 marathons in 7 days – plus a final 103km stretch on their journey from Alice to Mthatha in the Eastern Cape – to follow in the footsteps of South African struggle icons, and to raise funds for underprivileged children.

The Icons Back-a-Buddy fundraising account is still open, so please donate towards the underprivileged children of South Africa.
