FOLLOWING an inspection last week, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has issued a ban on matches at the uMhlathuze Stadium for a four-week period starting 13 August.

This after the inspection revealed that the pitch is in poor condition as a result of maintenance neglect during the closed season.

Once rehabilitation has taken place, the PSL will carry out a further inspection.

Owing to the short notice period, the PSL has allowed today’s (Sunday) Richards Bay FC vs Polokwane City fixture to go ahead, as well as the Milford vs Siwelele FC game on 12 August.

The City of uMhlathuze, owner of the Central Sport Complex, is responsible for the maintenance of the field and other stadium amenities.
