KZN tourism gets a boost as arrivals surge

KZN tourist arrivals rose 29.1% in July, with Kosi Bay recording strong growth and helping drive the province’s tourism recovery.

KZN has recorded a significant increase in tourist arrivals, with the Kosi Bay port of entry among major contributors to the growth.

Arrivals increased from 25 939 in July 2025 to 33 479 this July – a 29.1% year-on-year increase.
This was driven by regional land gateways, with Kosi Bay noting a 42.1% increase in arrivals.

While the port-of-entry figures do not show where travellers ultimately stayed or how much they spent, KZN Tourism and Film Interim CEO Sibusiso Gumbi has commended the growth.
