2 men rescued offshore St Lucia
National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) rescues two men offshore of Ingwe Beach in St Lucia
Two men escaped injury when their fishing ski-boat suffered mechanical failure offshore of Ingwe Beach in St Lucia on Monday.
The men, whose ski-boat suffered a steering failure, were rescued by the NSRI St Lucia duty crew who launched Rescue 40 Alpha.
“We reached the local fishing ski-boat in the surf zone where both casualties were transferred onto our rescue craft and brought safely ashore.
“They were not injured. An NSRI rescue swimmer remained with the casualty boat,” said NSRI St Lucia station commander Melinda Snyman.
“The casualty vessel subsequently capsized in the surf zone. Our NSRI rescue craft returned to the casualty vessel, which was recovered to the shore without incident.”
