CITY OF UMHLATHUZE

INVITATION TO COMMENT ON AN APPLICATION SUBMITTED IN TERMS OF SECTION 27(1) (G) AND (A) OF THE UMHLATHUZE SPATIAL PLANNING AND LAND USE MANAGEMENT BYLAW, 2017 (AS AMENDED), FOR THE:

•PROPOSED CONSOLIDATION OF ERVEN 41, 44 AND 45, EMPANGENI, TO CREATE DESIGNATED ERF 16564, EMPANGENI;
•REZONING OF DESIGNATED ERF 16564, EMPANGENI, FROM *RESIDENTIAL ONLY HIGH DENSITY` TO `HOTEL`; AND
•WITHDRAWAL OF AN UNREGISTERED RIGHT OF WAY (ROW) SERVITUDE. Notice is hereby given that the uMhlathuze Municipality is about to consider an application Submitted in terms of section 27(1) (g) and (a) of the uMhlathuze Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-Law, 2017 (As Amended), for:

•Proposed Consolidation of Erven 41, 44 and 45, Empangeni, to create Designated Erf 16564, Empangeni;
•Rezoning of Designated Erf 16564, Empangeni, from `Residential Only High Density` to `Hotel`; and
•Withdrawal of an Unregistered Right of Way (Row) Servitude.

The application sites are located in Empangeni CBD, at No. 64 Turnbull Street.

Details of the application, together with all the relevant documents, are open for inspection by prior appointment and during office hours with:

-Mr. Frank Mayisela at the Municipal Office, Empangeni Civic Centre, Commercial Road, Empangeni, or via email to MayiselaFT@umhlathuze.gov.za

The application documents may also be downloaded from Council`s Website at www.umhlathuze.gov.za under `Notices` from 08 June 2026.

A written objection against or representation concerning the proposal, which is clearly marked
•Consolidation, Rezoning and Withdrawal of an Unregistered Right of Way (Row) Servitude of Erven 41, 44 and 45, Empangeni, to create Designated Erf 16564, Empangeni`; and which clearly sets out the grounds for the objection should reach the Municipal Manager by 10 July 2026 at Fax: 035 907 5444, Email: MdumelaT@umhlathuze.gov.za (c.c. creg@umhlathuze.gov.za & MayiselaFT@umhlathuze.gov.za), or the Postal Address below.

A person objecting on behalf of a landowner must submit proof of being authorized to act on behalf of such an owner.
