TOWN PLANNING NOTICE The Jozini Local Municipality has received applications in terms of the Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act, 2013 (Act No. 16 of 2013) read together with the Jozini Spatial Planning and Land Use Management By-Law, 2017, for Township Establishment, Subdivision and Rezoning of land forming part of the Jozini Six Villages Urban Housing Project, situated on various portions of the Farm Makhathini Flats No. 16533, Registration Division HV. The applications relate to the following villages: Makhonyeni Village – Portion 12 (of 1), Biva Village – Portion 2, Sibongile Village – Portion 16 (of 1), Mkhonjeni Village – Portion 14, Hlalanathi Village (formerly Gedleza Village) – Portion 13, Bhanjana Village – Portion 13 (of 1) The applications have been prepared by Terraplan Associates (KZN) acting on behalf of the Jozini Local Municipality and the KwaZulu- Natal Department of Human Settlements, who are authorised to submit the applications and associated documentation to the Municipality. The applications seek approval to: Formalise and regularise existing settlements; Establish townships and subdivide land into residential erven; Rezone land from Agriculture 1 to appropriate zoning categories, including Residential, Business, Institutional, Open Space and Roads; Enable the provision of engineering services and community facilities; in order to support the implementation of the Jozini Six Villages Urban Housing Project and improve living conditions within the respective communities. A copy of the applications and accompanying documentation is available for inspection by interested members of the public at the Jozini Municipality Development Planning Offices, during normal office hours between 08h00 and 16h30.
