Hats off to a courageous woman

Take a bow Lizzy Esterhuizen

IN response to the article concerning the mentally ill women who was attacked by an angry homeowner last week, I think the real question is, who really was the mentally ill person during this incident?

For someone to be so enraged as to use a firearm and aim it directly at a helpless person, must indicate severe head trauma.

The Zululand Mental Health officials should have thrown in a complementary straitjacket when the SAPS apprehended this individual.

Luckily Lizzy Esterhuizen, a neighbour determined to make a difference, was on the scene of this terrifying incident. I admire Lizzy for her courage shown whilst saving this incapable women from near death and taking it upon herself to call the authorities.

This selfless act saved a women’s life and has given myself and others hope for the sanctity of our community.

I share Gloria Pillay’s gratitude towards this caring woman and hope that she realises that her commitment to helping others is truly admirable.
