The ‘raining’ champs

Athletes grabbed their gumboots on Saturday when they came out to the uMhlathuze Sports Complex to compete in the prestigious uThungulu District Games

ATHLETES grabbed their brollies and rain coats on Saturday when they came out to the uMhlathuze Sports Complex to compete in the prestigious uThungulu District Games.

Participants came out firing in 14 sporting codes, which resulted in some great competition and action.

The day was organised to identify talent amongst the youth and fight against social ills like drugs and alcohol.

Athletes competed in soccer, volleyball, netball, basketball, athletics, rugby, cricket, table tennis, indigenous games, swimming, dancing, karate, boxing and golf.
