Athletes grabbed their gumboots on Saturday when they came out to the uMhlathuze Sports Complex to compete in the prestigious uThungulu District Games

Athletes came tearing down the track in the girls 100m heat during the uThungulu District Games at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex on Saturday. Running into the rain and wind, certainly did not slow these athletes down, as they recorded some whirlwind times

ATHLETES grabbed their brollies and rain coats on Saturday when they came out to the uMhlathuze Sports Complex to compete in the prestigious uThungulu District Games.

Participants came out firing in 14 sporting codes, which resulted in some great competition and action.

The day was organised to identify talent amongst the youth and fight against social ills like drugs and alcohol.

Athletes competed in soccer, volleyball, netball, basketball, athletics, rugby, cricket, table tennis, indigenous games, swimming, dancing, karate, boxing and golf.
