Hume sights on double title

Rider takes first place at the KZN Junior WFO Enduro event held in Matatiele.

CALVIN Hume is still on full throttle towards a double championship title after the talented youngster sped his way into another first place finish at the second to last KZN Junior WFO Enduro event held in Matatiele over the weekend.

Hume now leads the overall series convincingly in both the KZN Junior WFO Enduro and X Country categories, with the final races scheduled for next weekend.

Riders were challenged by a 32km track that produced all types of terrain, including a 5km dry sandy river bed section which led into a climb of steep rocky mountain passes and lots of grass single tracks.

An Enduro X track section was also included with logs, piles of rock and tyre mud pits.

Calvin revved his Fast Power Sports Kawasaki and dropped gears to gain maximum speed, which resulted in competitors eating his dust.

He will compete in Greytown next Saturday in the last KZN Junior WFO Enduro event for the year, then again on Sunday in the last X Country event for the season.

Calvin just needs to finish both events to claim both titles.
