Take a run on the wild side

Africa's Wildest Trail Run took place at the weekend

The 2025 edition of the STIHL iMfolozi Outrun took place over the weekend in the oldest game reserve in Africa, iMfolozi.

Billed as Africa’s Wildest Trail Run, the event welcomes a limited field of 300 runners to the historic park. The adventurous athletes take part in the two-day event raising funds for the reserve’s special projects.

Day 1 takes runners across a 20km route, from the Nqumeni section across the corridor road and into the Masinda section, finishing at the Centenary Centre. Day 2 is an 11km out and back route within the Masinda section.

The event has raised over R1.5m in its seven years of operation and continues to be one of the most sought after trail run events.
